Tip Calculator
Pick a percentage, split the bill, round up if you like.
How it works
The tip is the bill multiplied by your percentage; the total is bill + tip; each person’s share is the total divided by the group size. “Round each person’s share up” nudges every individual amount to the next full cent (or dollar-equivalent) so you never under-tip when splitting; the small difference goes to the tip.
FAQ
How much should I tip?
Customs vary by country. In the United States, 15-20% at restaurants is customary (20%+ for great service); in much of Europe and Asia service is often included and little or no tipping is expected. When in doubt, check local norms.
Should I tip on tax?
Etiquette guides usually suggest tipping on the pre-tax amount, but many people simply tip on the total for convenience. The calculator works either way. Enter whichever figure you prefer.
