How do I convert iPhone HEIC photos to JPG?
Either use this page (drop the HEIC files in, choose JPEG, download) or avoid HEIC next time: on your iPhone, Settings → Camera → Formats → “Most Compatible” makes the camera shoot JPEG directly. To convert an entire library at once, Mac users can use Preview’s export, and the Files app converts single photos via long-press → Quick Actions.
Why does my transparent PNG turn white when I convert to JPG?
JPEG has no transparency channel, so the invisible areas must become a colour — this tool uses white. If you need transparency to survive, convert to PNG or WebP instead. This is also why “JPG to PNG transparent” isn’t possible in reverse: a JPG never contained transparency to begin with, so converting one to PNG gives an opaque image.
What is WebP and why is everything sending me one?
WebP is a modern format that’s typically 25-35% smaller than JPEG at the same visual quality. Websites love it because it loads faster — but some older apps and upload forms still reject it, which is why “webp to jpg” is a common problem. Converting out of WebP here is lossless-to-lossy: the file gets bigger because JPEG stores the same picture less efficiently.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion happens on your device with your browser’s own image engine. Nothing is transmitted, stored, or logged.
